The Solid Waste Division is involved with many citywide events throughout the community all year long! Join us at any of the following events and learn more about the City's recycling programs, ask questions, share ideas and help us serve you better.

2nd Chance Week A nationwide event that promotes the reuse of old items. Varies Annually in October
America Recycles Day Nationwide promotion ot raise awareness of recycling opportunities, recycled products and local programs. Varies Summer
Business Recycling Awards Awards presentation at City Council meeting. Tenth Street Place Summer
City Council Open House at Farmer's Market Talk to Council members in a casual setting and obtain recycling, hazardous waste and storm drain information. 16th Street between H and I Streets Summer/Fall
Earth Day in the Park Full day of entertainment, environmental education and awareness Graceada Park Annually in April
Pollution Prevention Week Nationwide promotion to raise awareness of sources of pollution and simple prevention methods. Varies September
Annual Shredding Event Residents of Modesto will be able to bring up to five paper bags of paper to be recycled at no charge. No businesses please. Varies Annually the first Saturday in October
Waste Tire Amnesty Events Residents of Modesto can request tire coupons for free disposal. Varies Every Other Month
